Helping men to grow in Christ, so others can know Christ.

M3

And I will show you my faith by what I do.

 James 2:18

Saturday morning March 3, 2012 at 7:00 AM we will meet at McElroy's on the Bayou for our monthly meeting.  Please come and join the exciting fellowship with our group.  Bring a friend, neighbor.  We are commissioned by Christ to go out into the world and make disciples of ALL.  19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (NIV Matthew 28 19:20)

NEW

February 4, 2012

We had 18 guys present at our February meeting.  Greg Arnold opened the meeting with a prayer.  He asked Steve Rusk to talk about the retreat coming up in March.  “Men for Others in Christ” will be March 23rd and 24th at Palmer Creek.  Also another opportunity for fellowship with other like minded men will be February 13 at East campus “Monday Night Manna”  We will watch Courageous and start a study using the Book “The Resolution for Men”.

Ray Van’ said, “To live Bold is to serve”.  Greg Arnold said, “What Ray said was completely unplanned and that is exactly what he wanted to talk about today”.  It gave him the opportunity to share the focus of M3 that first the model is for us to understand whom we are as men. We are to share in the ministry of the church, and we are to use our gifts in service to missions for the glory of Christ.  Men, Ministry and Misssions are where the model of M3 comes.

Greg used as his analogy from the book “The Starfish and the Spider. The Starfish and the Spider is about “what happens when there’s no one in charge. It’s about what happens when there’s no hierarchy. You’d think there would be disorder, even chaos. But in many arenas, a lack of traditional leadership is giving rise to powerful groups that are turning industry and society upside down.” The book draws on a series of case studies that illustrate Principles of Decentralization.

1. Genuine interest in others.

2. Desire to help everyone they meet.

3. Inspiration (to others).

Leigh Brown talked about Rick Warren’s Church , Saddleback in California and how as a member you are asked about your skills that a network of abilities can be drawn from when there is a need within the church community.

Greg gave the devotion using 1 John 5:5 and his scripture; “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God”.

Greg said,  from The Eagles song “Taking it Easy ” Well, I'm a standing on a corner
In Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see
“.  He said, “Just a few miles away from Winslow, Arizona the was a creator from an object that made an impact.  Jesus made an impact on this earth some 2000 years ago.  Do you believe that Jesus was who he said he was.  Does you life make an impact on the world because you believe who Jesus was?  You need to make the impact instead of the world making an impact on you.  How has Christ made an impact on your life?

Greg said, “He see an impact in the relationship he forms with other people.  Ray Van’ said, He see it in answered prayers.

Hal Galloway talked about working on “The Vital Congregation” and how it made him aware about the direction of the church.  The mission of The United Methodist Church is to “Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” (Matt 28:18-20 & Matt 22:36-40) This mission is achieved through vital congregations that equip and empower people to be Disciples of Jesus Christ in their homes and communities around the world.

Greg finished up summed up in Matthew 28:18  as he told his disciples to go and make more of you.  To be an impacted to make a change that people will say, “That guy is different”.  Depart with this and think about yourself—What one thing can I do that will impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Greg closed with prayer.
